Andrew Leahy is our 2018 recipient of the Tama Ireland Agri College Bursary.
He is a 20-year-old student currently in his second year of Agriculture level 7 in Waterford Institute of Technology
His father is a dairy farmer and for as long as he can remember has had a great interest in machinery & farming. He is the second son of five and has great memories as a child growing up on a family farm.
“It is my dream to study and to update, advance farming methods to the best level that can be achieved with all the new technology and knowledge available”.
He works during the summer holidays with a local contractor since he was 16 years old “I remember asking him for a job when I was 8 years old!”. “He used to do work for my father and I remember being over excited when they came to do work on our farm. I think that I have always known in my heart that this is the path for me”.
We are delighted to award Andrew this year’s bursary of €2000 to assist him financially with his fees.
